Good morning,
Many of you have asked about the possibility of immigration officers visiting BES. Lance Boston came on Friday and shared the protocol with school leaders across the distirct. He also shared he has spoken with our local police chief, and given the population in Nelson County, she believes it will be rare for them to come to Bardstown. She also stated that federal offices generally notify her of their arrival ahead of time as they often may ask for/need assistance.
Still, if it does happen:
- The arriving immigration officer comes to the school and asks to speak to the principal.
- I then call our SRO to determine that the agent's credentials are valid, and the "inspector" is not a hoax.
- Once SRO Andrew Riley verifies the credentials, we will follow the directives of the agent.
I know this may not help, but know we have discussed this and are prepared if this were to happen.
-Josh
