NTI - Friday, January 10, 2025

ALL:
  • We will have an NTI day tomorrow, 1-10-2025. No certified/instructional staff are required to report to campus, but all need to be able to support students remotely. Parking lots and sidewalks will NOT be cleared Friday, 1-10-2025. However, all staff are welcome to come to school if they wish.
  • School-age care (BEEP) will be OPEN, and staff childcare will be CLOSED 1-10-2025.
  • School leadership will be accessible via text, cell phone, and Google Meet.
  • BCS will send a message out to families before school lets out today letting them know we will be on NTI tomorrow. You are welcome to post anything on DoJo or Google Classroom AFTER BCS sends this message out. (Our message cannot beat the district announcement out!)

HOMEROOM TEACHERS:
  • ALL homerooms should have one Google Meet and invite all students to a Morning Meeting at 10 AM. Teachers should touch base with students, let them know how help can be accessed for any remote work, and go over any assignments for the day.
  • SEND STUDENTS HOME WITH Chromebooks today. All students should have Chromebooks at home. This includes day users and second graders.
  • Reasonable work expectations for the day include:
    • 2nd and 3rd grade: 20ish minutes of reading and 20ish minutes of math
    • 4th grade: 20ish minutes of reading, 20ish minutes of math, and 20ish minutes of science or SS
    • 5th grade: 20ish minutes of reading, 20ish minutes of math, 20ish minutes of writing, and 20ish minutes of SS

RELATED ARTS TEACHERS:
  • Please join one homeroom for their Morning Meeting Google Meet with a teacher of your choosing.
  • Complete one activity and post it on DoJo for families that kids can do at home. This should be simple. (Exs. Candace puts some cool art tutorial videos together. Allen has some science activities/links on snow and weather. Amber has a link to a cool indoor movement break that supplements her work. Ms. Martin showcases a site with virtual instruments to support her instrument unit. Cathy did a great job on this with EPIC books and links earlier this week and could do an update to the list, etc. These are just ideas. Whatever you think works is a-ok by me.)

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS:

SPECIAL EDUCATION STAFF:
  • Please work on the following after co-teaching as usual:
  • Calling/ ideo meet with folks (individual or group, if resource classes) to check, provide help or feedback, etc.
  • Call parents and give a general update on how students are doing in relation to class and their IEP goals.
  • Work on upcoming IEPs that are due.
  • Ensure progress monitoring data and IEP progress report information are up to date in Infinite Campus and that that information has been sent to families/

All staff can also update their toolboxes with any completed PD hours AND reflections. Online PD is also available at the CKEC website if anyone still needs hours.

Lastly, please make sure you are inputting NTI participation from 1/7 into the spreadsheet by next week. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11F9qVtH8_nZmTVSqR8QIJPxPvIFcUeruLjodCvk8sDs/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Please let me know if you have any questions!

-Josh
