Halloween and All Saints Day

As a reminder, Halloween is being celebrated tomorrow as a part of our Red Ribbon Week - as we say, "Boo to Drugs!" The following message was sent to families. Note: Inflatable costumes that prohibit students from being able to sit in their desks will not work for the day, too.

BES and BPS are celebrating Halloween on 10/31 (a Thursday).   We look forward to celebrating this day while also enjoying a normal day of learning.  Students will be allowed to wear their Halloween costume to school. The costume should be school appropriate and not too scary. Students MUST refrain from wearing masks and/or face-paint and should not bring fake blood or toy weapons of any sort to school. Students wearing face paint will be asked to wipe/wash it off. Here's to a fun and safe October 31!

Also, on Friday, as it is All Saints Day - and we will all be saints for surviving school the day AFTER Halloween - please feel free to dress comfortably and casually (just please no pants with holes, rips, or tears.

Thank you for all you do.

No More Personal Days - May 2

Three folks have submitted personal days for May 2. I have approved them all and cannot approve any more.

If there are other days you would like, please put them in, and remember they are first come, first serve.

From Human Resources

Employees are still required by policy to sign the Leave Statement when absent, but it doesn’t need to be notarized.  I’ve attached the form for those that may need it. Leave Affidavit

Thanks.

From Officer Riley, Our SRO

Good morning all, welcome back from break. I wanted to give you all notice that I will be off campus Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week for a training in Bowling Green. I have contacted BPD and NCSO to have marked units frequent through our campuses. If there is a reason to have law enforcement respond to your building, please call Nelson County Dispatch at (502)348-3211 or 911 in an emergency. I may still be available by phone for questions and should be able to respond to text if it’s something minor. Hope everyone has a great week.

Andrew Riley
