One School/One Book

Information about our school-wide read is now posted on the right, under the links, under One School/One Book. Please read through Ms. Osborne's slide show, and reach out to her with any questions. You can also ask your literacy representative on ILT-Reading, too. This initiative will allow us all to read the same book as an entire school community and have great discussions on a piece of literature.

We will kick everything off with a school-wide assembly on March 1 at 7:45 AM. We will also have a dress down day that day with kids encouraged to wear animal print -- because they are WILD ABOUT READING! Save the date!

Parent Teacher Conference Info.

As we are preparing for conferences, here are some points of emphasis to consider as you meet with parents.  Remember, our goal is to connect with all parents during conferences.

Complete THIS LINK to record all conferences you have: https://forms.gle/8Q7U33GBvUdAni53A

Things to Discuss -

BES School-Parent Compact - briefly review if parent was present at last conference.

  • This is a Title 1 Requirement, so we need to discuss this with every parent. This is a great opportunity to discuss the importance of regular attendance.
  • This is a great opportunity to discuss the importance of reading at home.

Standards Based Report Card (2nd and 3rd) -  briefly review if parent was present at last conference.

Discuss areas of strength and concern based on classroom assessments/observations.

·       ME - Meets Expectations: The student is performing at an expected level based on exposure and development.

·       LS - Learning Skill: The student is making progress, but there are areas that the student is not meeting appropriate expectations.

·       AC - Area of Concern: The student has a significant deficiency in this area, and we are engaged in additional, targeted, interventions.

Make sure that the parents are aware of the concern, the interventions, how the interventions will be monitored, how the parent can support the interventions at home, and the timeline for additional conversations with the parents about the interventions.

iReady Winter Diagnostic (Table 2 has winter norms)

·       Discuss the student’s iReady Winter Diagnostic scores.

·       Discuss that the final  iReady Fall Diagnostic will be taken in March and we want students to be ready for end of year assessments.

Teacher Work Assignments

 Good morning!

As we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year, please complete the survey below. This will let me, Josh, know where you might like to be placed for your work assignment next year. While many staff members will remain in the same role, others have asked to switch assignments.

Information from this survey will be used to make final placements (both room and job/role) after the final staffing allocation is received from the board.

ALL certified personnel should complete this survey (even if they believe they may be leaving us or retiring).

Please let me know if you have any questions.
