Note on Amy Jo Simms
BES family,
I wanted to send you an update on Mrs. Sims. Amy Jo is currently back at Good Samaritan hospital. She was admitted for pain from her previous surgery on Sunday. That night she was administered IV antibiotics to prep her for yet another surgery. When administered, the antibiotics caused a severe allergic reaction, and she went into an anaphylaxis. She coded and was given CPR and was intubated. She is currently on a ventilator and is heavily sedated. The current plan is to find the right antibiotics that will safely and effectively treat the infection in her arm as well as pneumonia.
On a positive note, she is responding to small commands, and the doctor is hoping to remove the tube later tonight, however she has a long road ahead.
If you are a praying person, please put our dear friend at the top of your list. Her family is very thankful for the texts and phone calls of well wishes, and they are sorry they cannot answer all of them. They are asking for continued prayers.
Thanks,
Becky Hayden
