SBDM Policies for Staff Review

Currently, the policies below are up for review. Please review them at your leisure. Contact your SBDM reps (Andrea Greer, Sandra Goatley, or Natalie Long) with feedback.

FIRST READING - Alignment with State Standards

FIRST READING - Parent and Family Engagement

IMPORTANT - ABSENCES

Staff,

It is required that you text Brittany (270-692-8454) and myself (502-341-5185) if you are going to be absent within 48 hours. This gives us time to contact subs. You must text BOTH of us.

Please store our numbers in your phone.

Please text as soon as you know you will need to be out. We are in the situation of having multiple uncovered absences per day, and this is often preventable if we know of something in advance. This is especially important with the impending flu season.

If you put an absence in for an appointment in the future (say, a doctor's appointment in February), we can always work to secure advanced coverage, too, if you would like to reach out. However, that is not as imperative.

Please let me know if you have any questions on this expectation.

Thank you for all you do,

Josh

Hoax Calls

FYI - there have been at least two reported hoax phone calls to schools in Lexington and Lousiville so far. The calls have threatened aggressive behaviors. We have been notified these may continue to happen in the state, much like they did last year with the swatting call we got at BHS.

Any threat we may get will have to be treated as real. However, I want you to be prepared and in the know.

Three Things

Important items:

1 – Please share the PTO newsletter via dojo or Remind. The link with the newsletter is below. Fundraiser forms are due Friday. We will use our monies/profits from this fundraiser to build a basketball court out back in the late spring/summer. PLEASE let parents know that. If families know why we are fundraising, sometimes they will sell more. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pDUyEQKEHA1n6kut_xErZ3JwgV5IOl6_JfE2kQNkcW4/edit?usp=sharing

2 – Juanito’s taco truck will be here on Gold Day! It will be parked in the bus loop. Menu is HERE. You have 75 minutes for lunch that day. 😊 Hopefully we can all enjoy some good food!

Please make sure you give feedback to your SBDM reps. Tina sent out the note from Andrea, Natalie, and Sandra this A.M.

Here’s to a great rest of the week, awesome assembly tomorrow, and a WONDERFUL S.T.E.A.M. night too!
